COVID-19 Safety Protocols

At RPM Underground, our #1 priority is the safety of both our customers and our staff. Our 17 private, fully self-contained rooms afford you and your group the peace of mind of social distancing while still having fun. Additionally, we are following all of New York State’s safety guidelines and taking every extra precaution we can to avoid putting anyone at risk.

UV-C Disinfecting And Sterilizing LampS

We use mobile UV lamps to disinfect and sterilize private rooms after each use and public areas daily. The lamps eliminate airborne contaminants with each use. Our bulbs are UV-C rated, and the lamp is suitable for areas up to 1,600 square feet (much larger than any of our rooms).

Electrostatic Disinfection

All surfaces, such as tables and benches, are cleaned between uses with an ionizing, electrostatic sprayer in conjunction with powerful disinfectant sprays. Our sprayer creates an even, uniform layer that wraps around surfaces to fully utilize the spray’s germ-killing power.

AIR Ventilation

We’ve placed MERV-13 rated filters into our ventilation systems for near hospital-grade filtration. We also have circulation systems in private rooms and in our public areas to constantly pump fresh air in directly from the outside. Lastly, we installed a fleet of standalone HEPA air purifiers in our rooms that filter air at the industry-recommended rate of 5x an hour to effectively lower particle levels and to maintain a safe, yet comfortable environment.

We’ve upgraded to the latest ordering and payment systems to enable contactless service. You can find all of our menus online, and you can even order and pay online directly at your table if you prefer. We’ve also eliminated the need to sign your credit card payments, and you can receive your receipt electronically.

SELF-CLEANING HIGH Touch Points

We’ve added NanoSeptic skins and mats onto high traffic public touch points — such as door handles, push doors, and light switches — to transform them into continuously self-cleaning surfaces.

In general: our microphones, remotes, and tablets are stored in a cabinet lined with UV-C bulbs. All microphones come with covers. Our song lists are online, and you can use your own personal devices to access them. All microphones are covered with continuously self-cleaning surfaces.

For private rooms: all microphones, remotes, and tablets are further disinfected prior to every use in individualized UV-C sanitizing units. Microphone covers are replaced after each use. We can also pre-enter songs for any reservation.

For public singing at the bar: microphones, remotes, and tablets are rotated regularly, replaced with freshly sanitized and disinfected units. Microphones, remotes, and tablets are cleaned with disinfectant periodically. Microphone covers are replaced regularly.
